Privacy Policy

Puja Center ("we", "us", "the app") helps Pandits create, customize, and share puja samagri (ritual item) lists with the Yajmans (families) they serve. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

When you register and use Puja Center as a Pandit, we collect:

• Account details: name, email address, and password (or, if you sign in with Google, your Google name, email, and profile photo).
• Profile information: profile photo, date of birth, years of experience, the pujas you perform, mobile number, address, city, and state — all provided by you and editable anytime from Profile Settings.
• Payment-adjacent details (optional): if you choose to add dakshina details, your UPI ID, UPI-linked mobile number, and/or an uploaded UPI QR code image. We never collect, hold, or process any actual payment — these details are shown to Yajmans so they can pay you directly through their own UPI app.
• Content you create: puja samagri lists, including any customizations you make to AI-generated or library lists.
• Usage data: basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and troubleshooting.

Yajmans (the recipients of a shared list) do not need an account and are not required to provide any personal information to view a shared samagri list.

2. Sign in with Google

If you choose "Sign in with Google", we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google to create or link your Puja Center account. We do not receive your Google password, and we only request the minimum profile information needed for account creation. You can review or revoke Puja Center's access at any time from your Google Account's security settings.

3. How we use your information

• To create and manage your Pandit account and profile.
• To generate and store puja samagri lists, including sending puja names to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate a suggested item list — see §4 below.
• To generate shareable links so you can send a samagri list to a Yajman, and to display your branding (name, photo, contact info, other pujas you perform) on that shared page.
• To send account-related emails: email verification, password reset, and security notifications (for example, if your dakshina/UPI details change).
• To maintain basic usage counters you can see on your own dashboard, such as how many times a shared link was viewed.
• To prevent abuse — for example, rate-limiting how many new AI-generated lists an account can request per day.

4. AI processing (Google Gemini)

When you search for a puja that doesn't already have a saved list, we send the puja name to Google's Gemini API to generate a suggested samagri list. We do not send your personal account details (name, contact info, address) as part of this request — only the puja name itself. The generated list is stored in our database and may be reused (as a shared, de-duplicated starting point) when other Pandits search for the same or a very similar puja.

5. What's visible on a shared list

When you generate a shareable link for a samagri list, anyone with that link can view: the item list, your profile photo and name, your address/city/state (whichever you've set), your contact info, other pujas you perform, and your dakshina details if you've added them. Do not share a link publicly (e.g. on social media) unless you're comfortable with that information being visible to anyone who opens it. Share links expire automatically 5–7 days after creation.

6. Data sharing with third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Google — for Sign in with Google (authentication) and the Gemini API (AI list generation).
• Service providers who host our application, database, and send transactional email on our behalf, strictly to operate the service.
• Anyone you send a share link to, and anyone that link is subsequently forwarded to — by design, since that's the app's core purpose.

We never collect, hold, or route payments — see §5.A / §10 of our product design for why this is a deliberate constraint, not just a policy choice.

7. Cookies & sessions

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Data retention & deletion

We retain your account and samagri data for as long as your account is active. You can edit or delete your saved samagri lists at any time. To request full deletion of your account and associated data, contact us using the details below.

9. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete most of your profile information directly from Profile Settings. For anything not self-service — including a full data export or account deletion request — contact us at the email below.

10. Children's privacy

Puja Center is intended for adult Pandits registering in a professional capacity. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
